The amount of health benefits received from Turmeric is so large and vast that we had to include it first on our list. The spicy root can be ingested to help aide a wide variety of ailments. Most commonly I see this supplement used in place of common pain medicines like Tylenol and Advil. Turmeric has natural painkilling and anti-inflammatory agents that work surprisingly well. It has also been known to help regulate cholesterol and stop diabetes onset.

Fish Oil (Omega 3)

Fish Oil is one of the best ways to get your Omega 3’s. This translates directly to improved brain function. Many experts claim that fish oil can help manage anxiety and depression, and even ease symptoms of ADHD and Alzheimer’s Disease. It can even lead to healthier skin and hair because of it’s natural anti-inflammatory agents. If you’re not a big fan of fishy foods, make sure to keep some of these supplements in your medicine cabinet.

Maca Root Powder

This is a lesser known root supplement with tons of vitamins jam packed in it to help improve your overall mood and energy levels. It also has been commonly used to increase libido in both men and women. Using Maca powder frequently has also been said to increase fertility in women. The claims are anecdotal however, and must be discovered for yourself.

Spirulina

Spirulina is actually a super-food, but because of it’s unpleasant taste, it is most commonly taken in pill form. It might look a little unpleasant and have a taste to go along with it, but Spirulina has immense medical benefits for your body. Spirulina eliminates harmful metals like arsenic from your body with it’s powerful detoxifying agents. It can also lower your blood pressure, reduce your cholesterol, and ultimately reduce your risk of stroke.

Ginger Root

Ginger Root is the last supplement on our list. It is commonly used to help relieve nausea and indigestion within its user. It is also known to help regulate high blood sugar within diabetics. Use this root to help boost your immunity during the cold winter season when sickness seems ever so prevalent. The best part about this one is that it can be used in a wide variety of cooking recipes.
